PROMPERÚ Recognizes Nellapima Baby Clothing With the Marca País Perú License

Nov 4, 2026

Baby clothing brand Nellapima has received a Product Use license for Marca País Perú, Peru’s official country brand, from PROMPERÚ. The mark will now appear on the labels, packaging and advertising of its Peruvian Pima cotton collections.

-- Nellapima, a baby and children’s clothing brand made from Peruvian Pima cotton, has been authorized by PROMPERÚ to use Marca País Perú, Peru's official country brand. The company shared the news in an announcement on its website: https://www.nellapima.com/blogs/news/marca-pais-peru-nellapima.

PROMPERÚ, Peru’s commission for the promotion of exports and tourism, issued Nellapima a Product Use certificate after reviewing the company’s application. The license is valid through September 17, 2028. Under it, the red “Perú” spiral can appear on Nellapima’s labels, packaging and advertising for its baby clothing and matching mother-and-baby collections.

Marca País Perú was created in 2011 by PROMPERÚ and Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism to represent the country abroad, from its culture and destinations to the products its companies make. Brands cannot simply add the mark on their own. Each one applies through PROMPERÚ’s licensee program, and every application is reviewed before a license is granted.

For Nellapima, the recognition connects directly to its raw material. The company’s cotton comes from Piura, in northern Peru, where founder Marianella grew up surrounded by the crop. Peruvian Pima is an extra-long-staple cotton, and its longer fibers produce yarn and fabric that stay soft and hold up well to frequent washing, a practical concern for clothing worn by babies.

“The cotton is Peruvian, the standard is high, and the result is something you can feel from the very first wear,” the company wrote in its announcement.

Nellapima was founded in 2016 and builds its collections around two lines. The Heritage line at https://www.nellapima.com/collections/heritage focuses on classic designs with hand smocking and embroidery for holidays, photos, gifts and keepsakes. The Everyday line uses the same Pima cotton in simpler pieces for daily wear. Every garment is made in Peru.

The license arrives as Peruvian apparel continues to expand abroad. According to Peru’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), the country’s textile and apparel exports reached USD 1.736 billion in 2025, up 6% from the previous year, with the United States receiving half of those shipments. For American families shopping for baby clothes, the Marca País Perú mark offers a clear, officially reviewed signal of where a garment comes from.

Nellapima described the authorization as a proud moment for a family business whose story began with Peruvian Pima cotton, and said the mark will start appearing across its labels, packaging and advertising.
